First Look At The Production-ready New-gen Honda Amaze

Ahead of its launch on December 4, the new generation Honda Amaze has been spotted without camouflage on public roads for the first time. The spy shots give a glimpse into the new design, especially the front and rear ends. While Honda has already released official design sketches of the Amaze, these new pictures provide more insight into the final look of the sedan. Let’s check it out:

New Honda Amaze: Design

The spy pictures, which appear to have been taken at night, reveal the likely production version of the Amaze. The front end shows its prominent eyebrow pattern LED DRLs and LED headlamps. Unlike the design sketches, the headlight unit seems larger and less slim. Plus, a chrome trim runs across the edge of the bonnet, while the bumper houses LED fog lamps.

From the side, the Amaze displays a straight belt line, chrome-finished door handles, and new multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it adopts City-style LED taillights and slightly from the ones shown in the design sketches. The rear bumper also includes reflector placements that match the design shown in the sketches. What remain behind the mask are the Honda logo and model designation.

New Honda Amaze: Interior

Although there are no spy pictures of the interior, we expect the new Honda Amaze to feature a completely new cabin, similar to the design sketches. Inspired by the interior of the elder siblings, it is likely to get a new steering wheel borrowed from the Elevate/City, a new touchscreen infotainment (likely an 8-inch unit), a semi-analogue instrument cluster (borrowed from the City/Elevate), and new air-con controls.

Honda may also offer it with a wireless phone charger, 6 speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, and auto headlamps and wipers. The new Amaze is also expected to come with six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, reverse parking camera with sensors, and three point seat belts and reminders for all passengers. However, the stand out feature, as seen in the design sketches, is likely to be Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

New Honda Amaze: Powertrain

It is likely that Honda will continue to offer the new generation Amaze with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90 PS and 110 Nm. This could be mated to a 5-speed and a CVT automatic transmission.

New Honda Amaze: Prices & Rivals

The upcoming Honda Amaze is expected to be costlier than the outgoing model, which is priced from Rs 7.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will take on the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.
