  • It will be the brand’s first ever sub-4 metre SUV.
  • Spy shots have hinted that the Kylaq looks like a mini Kushaq.

The world premiere of Skoda’s first-ever sub-4 metre SUV, the Kylaq, is all set to happen on November 6. Post its global debut, the Skoda Kylaq will go on sale in India sometime in early 2025. The new Skoda SUV will slot in an extremely popular segment in the market, going up against the likes of the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet. Here’s everything we know ahead of its debut.

Looks Like A Mini Kushaq!

Testing of the Skoda Kylaq is in full swing and from spy shots, we can discern it looks like a mini Kushaq, especially the silhouette and rear-end design. But the fascia has been completely restyled, with a split headlight setup flanking the traditional Skoda butterfly grille. Expected To Be Feature Loaded

The interior of the Skoda Kylaq is yet to be snapped. But, we expect it to borrow plenty of bits from the Skoda Slavia and Skoda Kushaq. Also, considering that it’s going to slot in a segment where features are given top priority, we expect Skoda to offer the Kylaq with plentiful equipment.

It should come with features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control and keyless entry with push button start.

Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Expect It With A Single Engine Option

The Kylaq is likely to get just a single engine option - a 115 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol unit, teamed with either the 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. It will be based on the shortened version of the MQB-A0 IN platform that currently underpins the Kushaq and Slavia.

Expected Launch And Price

As mentioned above, the Skoda Kylaq is expected to be launched in India sometime in early 2025. Prices are expected to start from around Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
