Harley-Davidson has trademarked the Nightster 440 name in India! Go ahead, let out a little scream, because Harley and Hero are not done shaking up the 350-500cc segment.
After the launch of the Harley-Davidson X440 roadster, Harley plans on adding the Nightster to its affordable bike portfolio. The upcoming bike will be based on the same platform as the X440 – meaning the same 440cc air-/oil-cooled 2-valve single pot motor – likely making the same 28PS and 38Nm. Its design, too, may be heavily inspired by that of its larger sibling. So expect the same sporty cruiser design language, with the sleek fuel tank and low-slung saddle.
Along with the design, the ergonomics and underpinnings, too, could be largely similar to the bigger Nightster. So expect a more neutral riding posture with slightly forward-set footpegs, flat and upright handlebar, and a different wheel setup from X440’s 18-/17-inch alloys, for a more cruiser-like posture.
Lastly, we expect the Nightster 440 to debut sometime in November 2024 with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 2.9 lakh,. Once here, it will go up against the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Keeway V302C and the upcoming Honda CB350 Cruiser.
