Essentially a souped-up Ford F-150.
Makes 558PS and 930Nm from its turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine.
Gets a bunch of mechanical mods under the hood and to its suspension setup.
Bespoke eight-foot bed boasts a 50 percent increase in volume over the standard model.
First units were delivered earlier this month in markets abroad.
The third-generation F-150 Raptor, debuted in February 2021, which is an off-roading capable pickup truck from Ford. However, it is not capable enough, at least for a few people who are not quite satiated by its off-roading and hauling prowess. Enter Hennessey, a Texas-based company known for its high-performance hypercars, has taken the standard F-150 and turned everything up a notch quite literally.
Result? The Gen 3 VelociRaptor 6x6- an even more in-your-face, get-out-of-the-way, go-anywhere, six-wheel drive pickup that is intimidating just to look at. Wait till you hear the specs on this thing.
The 3.5-litre V6 turbo-petrol mill has been tweaked with new mechanical components to produce 558PS and 930Nm; a 108PS and 219Nm jump over the standard F-150’s unit. Hennesey has somehow managed to extract 50 percent more traction with the help of a new ‘Fox’ suspension setup that includes dual locking rear axles.
Changes have also been made to the aesthetics of the car, making it more aggressive and butch. The front and rear bumpers have been revised, and the additional axle accommodates a bigger, bespoke 2.4m bed, which has 45 percent more storage volume than the standard 1.67m bed. The ride height has been bumped by three inches and it now sits on 37-inch off-roading tyres that hug the 20-inch alloy wheels.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “Everything is bigger and faster in Texas and our VelociRaptor 6×6 takes this concept to the extreme! Building on the capability, power, and presence of our VelociRaptor truck, our latest six-wheel drive offering will delight customers across the US and around the world with its power and go-anywhere abilities.”
Prices for this mammoth of a pickup truck start from Rs 3.17 crore (converted) in the US market. Deliveries for the same commenced earlier this month.
