Here Are Day 1 And 2 Snippets From Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra ICE, BMW iX1 LWB, and MG Cyberster were the highlights of the Auto Expo 2025

India’s biggest automotive festival, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, commenced on 17 January, 2025, showcasing a slew of new cars, major launches, and concepts. Indian automakers Tata and Mahindra showcased their newest offerings, while India’s major brands, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Skoda, and MG presented their all-electric lineup. Not to mention the high-end luxury entries from Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Mini. If you might have missed something with the ocean of launches and reveals going around, here is a quick short wrap of the day 1 and 2 of the Bharat Auto Expo 2025.

The Auto Expo 2025 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of other notable personalities, including Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Piyush Goyal.

Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, And Toyota

Tata Motors revealed a host of cars at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. First up, the near production version of the Sierra ICE made its debut alongside the production-spec Harrier EV.

Tata also introduced the new Nexon EV Bandipur Edition, Harrier Bandipur Edition, and Safari Bandipur Edition, paying homage to Bandipur National Park in Karnataka. The Safari and upcoming Harrier EV has received a new Stealth Edition, featuring a new matte colour scheme inside out.

Furthermore, Tata showcased the new Avinya X concept – an electric crossover that will use a new EMA platform shared with Jaguar Land Rover.

Then, Maruti Suzuki showcased the new e Vitara with its launch scheduled by March 2025. The electric SUV will be available in two battery pack options with 7 airbags, 10-powered driver’s seat, seat ventilation, and ADAS.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV concept also made its India debut with an expected market launch later in 2025. This is essentially a re-badged version of the Maruti e Vitara like the Hyryder, Taisor, Glanza, and Rumion. On the flip side, the Hilux Black Edition made its debut at the Toyota pavilion.

Hyundai, Mahindra And Skoda

South Korean automaker Hyundai launched the new Creta Electric in India. The prices of the electric SUV start from Rs 17.99 lakh and go up to Rs 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Creta Electric is available in 10 colours across 5 variants. It offers a maximum range of up to 473 km, as per ARAI. It also showcased the Staria MPV, offering various seating options, from 2 to 11 seat layouts.

Hyundai Creta Electric

At the Hyundai pavilion, the new Ioniq 9 was unveiled for the first time in the country. This is the third electric offering, after the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, from the brand under the Ioniq sub-brand. Notably, the Ioniq 9 promises a 620 km range. Hyundai also presented the funky E4W concept.

Czech Republic auto major Skoda flaunted its expansive new car lineup at the Bharat Auto Expo 2025. The 2025 Octavia vRS, new-gen Kodiaq and Superb, all-electric Elroq, and Vision 7S concept. More importantly, the brand has revealed it will be launching four of them by the end of this year.

Mahindra, the Indian SUV maker, showcased the new BE 6 and XEV 9e. They cost Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Both SUVs are powered by two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh paired with a single motor producing 231 PS or 286 Nm and 380 Nm, irrespective of the battery pack. The maximum MIDC Part 1+2 range is rated at 682 km for the BE 6 and 656 km for the XEV 9e.

Mini, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, And Porsche

British marque Mini introduced the new Cooper S John Cooper Works Pack, featuring several sporty elements. Priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the deliveries of the hatch will commence in the coming months.

BMW launched two new models in India. On the first day, the new iX1 long wheelbase was launched at Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom). It has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm with up to 531 km range. The next day, it introduced the new X3 at Rs 75.80 lakh for petrol and 77.80 lakh for diesel (ex-showroom).

Japanese automaker Lexus, although has not launched anything at the auto show, it showcased two concepts. Firstly, the LF-ZC sedan concept is based on a new electric-only platform and uses advanced battery technology promising around twice the range of the traditional electric car. Secondly, Lexus previewed its new ROV – an ADV that gets a hydrogen-powered engine, focussing on performance and sustainability.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled three new cars at the expo. It introduced the new Maybach GLS Night Series at Rs 3.71 crore (ex-showroom) and all-electric EQS SUV Night Series at Rs 2.63 crore (ex-showroom). Both Night Series versions feature an exclusive dual-tone paint, a special interior theme, new Maybach alloy wheels, and dark chrome with rose gold highlights.

The legendary G-Class Electric or G 580 with EQ Technology  was recently launched at Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom) and was showcased to the public at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Mercedes-Benz CLA Class concept also made its India debut showcasing the direction of future electric lineup.

Porsche showed off its updated lineup, including the legendary nameplate. The showcased models are the 911, 911 GT3 RS, Macan Electric, Taycan.

Kia And MG

Kia – a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Corporation, revealed the 2025 EV6 with its launch taking place in March 2025. The brand has already opened bookings for the electric crossover. Alongside the 2025 EV6, Kia showcased the new Carnival Hi-Limousine – a premium variant of the on-sale Carnival. The upcoming Syros also made its public debut at the Bharat Auto Expo 2025.

British auto brand MG unveiled several new models at the Auto Expo 2025. Firstly, the Cyberster – an electric two-seat convertible was showcased with order books now open and customer deliveries in April 2025. There was also the new M9, a Kia Carnival rival but in an all-electric form. Kia will sell both its electric offerings from the new and premium ‘MG Select’ dealerships. The brand also revealed the MG 7 Trophy.  Lastly, the new ZS HEV – known as the Astor in India – was also at the MG pavilion, hinting at its market launch.

MG showcased its Majestor SUV, featuring a muscular stance thanks to the large grille, chunky body cladding, sleek headlights, and straight shoulder lines. The new IM 5 and IM 6 – two all-electric siblings were also presented but it is uncertain whether MG will launch them in India.

BYD, VinFast, Isuzu, And Vayve Mobility

The BYD Sealion 7 made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The brand also announced bookings opening the same day with deliveries slated for 7 March. The Sealion will be available with a single battery pack coupled to either a single or dual-motor. This was not the only car from the Chinese automaker at the Auto Expo 2025. It also unveiled the Sealion 6 – a plug-in hybrid vehicle powered by a 1.5-litre engine.

VinFast arrived in India with a range of new electric vehicles,VF 3, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8 and the VF 9. Also, it showcased the VF Wild pickup concept, which is as large as the on-sale Toyota Hilux. Among them, the VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs will be the first cars to be launched in India later this year.

Isuzu showcased its new D-Max concept – an all-electric pickup at the Auto Expo 2025. It features a 66.9 kWh battery pack and an all-wheel drive system.

Vayve Eva made its market debut at the Auto Expo with prices starting at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Eva is available in three variants and can accommodate two adults in its fighter jet cockpit-style seating.
