A new automatic transmission option for the Compass

Our primary speculation centres around the possibility of Jeep introducing an automatic transmission option for its 4x2 variants of the widely popular Compass SUV. In India, Jeep already provides a 9-speed automatic gearbox which is limited to 4x4 variants only. The potential addition will be paired to similar 2-litre diesel engine churning out 170PS/350Nm.

Special Edition for Jeep Compass and Meridian

Amidst the buzz in the automotive world, there is the possibility of a special edition of the Jeep Compass being unveiled at the event. While details are still under wraps, we are eager to see what additions will be made to the new special edition. Currently, the Compass comes in four broad variants : Sports, Night Eagle, Limited, and Model S. Earlier this year, Jeep discontinued the petrol powertrain within its Compass lineup, leaving buyers with just the 2-litre diesel engine.

Jeep India might reveal a special edition variant for the Meridian as well. The car is Jeep’s seven-seater SUV that is based on the Compass. Earlier, Jeep India also launched two special editions for Meridian called Meridian X and Meridian Uplander. The two special editions bring additional convenience features to an already feature-rich list of comforts and safety enhancements. We anticipate a similar trend in tomorrow’s event.

With all of the new offerings outlined above, it appears that Jeep India is gearing up for a busy festive season ahead.
