Following multiple teasers and spy shots, Tata Motors has finally revealed the Curvv is all set to make its India debut date on August 7, 2024. Both the electric and ICE version are expected to be revealed on the same day. The Curvv is a SUV-coupe that will slot in the extremely popular compact SUV segment in India. Lets take a look at its design highlights, expected features, and powertrain specifications in this report.
Visually, the Curvv will borrow some of its design cues from other Tata models such as the Harrier and Safari. Both the Curvv and the Curvv EV will feature sloping roofline, setting it apart from its other rivals. Both the models will also boast sleek, connected LED tail lamps and flush-fitting door handles. Additionally, the Curvv EV is expected to include a closed grille and connected LED DRL with welcome and goodbye functions.

Feature-wise, both the Curvv and Curvv EV will come equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, keyless entry with push button start/stop, wireless phone charging, a large panoramic sunroof, and an automatic climate control unit.
On the safety front, both the models will get six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold and hill start assist, a 360 degree camera with front and rear parking sensors, three point seatbelts for all occupants, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS features like blind spot detection, emergency collision braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.
Though the powertrain specifications for both the models are still kept under wraps, the ICE-powered Curvv is expected to be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. It will be offered with a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 125 PS and 225 Nm, alongside a Nexon-sourced 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine generating 115 PS and 260 Nm. Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual for both engines and a dual-clutch automatic for the petrol variant. Additionally, an automatic transmission option might be available for the diesel variant as well.
The Curvv EV, on the other hand, is expected to come with two powertrain options and a claimed range of up to 500 km.
At launch, expected to happen after its debut, the Curvv EV will first go on sale followed by the ICE version.
Pricing for the Curvv is expected to start around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), going up against the upcoming Citroen Basalt, and SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq.
The Curvv EV is likely to start from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against SUVs like the MG ZS EV and upcoming models such as the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.
