Second-generation Skoda Kodiaq to be launched in India by June 2025.
Features an evolutionary design for the exterior, and a brand new cabin.
Gets a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Will likely be powered by the same 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, but with more power.
Internationally, it gets multiple engine options to choose from.
The second-generation of the Skoda Kodiaq was revealed globally in 2023, and will be heading to our shores by June 2025 as confirmed by the company’s brand director. In a media interaction, Petr Janeba, Skoda Brand Director, mentioned that it will take a year for Skoda to introduce the second-generation Kodiaq for the Indian market. Later, he also gave an explanation for the launch timeline, saying that Skoda will first need to figure out the parts and components and logistics before launching the new Kodiaq in India.
The new generation of the flagship SUV gets an updated design for the exterior, a new cabin and a couple of new features. The SUV was recently spied testing without any cover, and you can check out our story on the same by clicking here.
The new Skoda Kodiaq gets a larger “Butterfly” grille, and a tweaked design for the LED headlights, making the overall appearance sleeker and more stylish. Apart from this, you also get new styling for the bumper.
From the sides, it looks almost identical to the outgoing model, save for the fact that it sports new wheel design. However, the rear gets new LED tail lamps with a ‘C’ motif and a new design for the bumper.
The interior of the Kodiaq features a completely new design and layout for the dashboard, starting with the massive infotainment system which cannot be ignored. The gear selector is now mounted on the steering column, which has cleared a lot of space in the lower centre console, enabling more storage space. And while cars are going heavy on touchscreens, we are happy that Skoda has kept physical dials to control functions such as the climate control, drive modes and the infotainment system
The 2025 Kodiaq is a well-equipped SUV, with features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, and ventilated and heated front seats.
In terms of safety, it comes equipped with ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and front and rear parking sensors.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is expected to use the 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that now puts out 204 PS, which is 14 PS more than the outgoing SUV.. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. International models come with multiple engine options including plug-in hybrid, diesel and mild-hybrid options as well.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be launched at a premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The next-generation Kodiaq will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster.
