Skoda India’s current mainstream offerings – the Kushaq and Slavia – are set to get a facelift and their launch timelines are out. While other portals have mentioned an introduction in 2025 for the Kushaq facelift, according to our sources, the compact SUV and Slavia’s midlife makeover will be introduced in our market in 2026.
The Slavia and Kushaq facelifts are expected to get an overhauled exterior, featuring tweaked bumpers, a revised grille design and new alloys. Furthermore, as is the case with plentiful new cars, you can expect them to come with connected LED DRLs and tail lamps.
The interiors are also expected to get a fresh look, probably in the form of minor design tweaks and new colours. One can also expect additional niceties such as panoramic sunroof and ADAS in these upcoming cars, the latter a high probability considering most of its rivals get it. .
Skoda’s compact SUV, Kushaq and its sedan, the Slavia, are both equally well stacked with features. They both are well equipped with niceties such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, ventilated and powered front seats, automatic climate control unit, a single-pane sunroof, ambient lighting and keyless entry with push button start/stop functionality.
On the safety front, both the Kushaq and Slavia get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD,electronic stability control, rear parking camera with sensors, three-point seatbelt for all occupants, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Both the Slavia and Kushaq are offered with two engine options and they are expected to remain unchanged in the facelifted cars. The first is a 1-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 115 PS and 178 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The second option is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine churning out 150 PS and 250 Nm. This engine option can be had with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Both the cars will command a price premium over the current model upon their arrival in 2026. The Skoda Kushaq price ranges from Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Slavia retails from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kushaq rivals other compact SUVs in the market like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and VW Taigun, while the Slavia competes against sedans like the VW Virtus, Honda City and the Hyundai Verna.
