Suzuki unveiled the 2024 Swift at the Japan Mobility Show earlier this year. The Japan-spec model comes with a range of ADAS features, which we are going to detail in this read. Note that Suzuki has not confirmed any ADAS features for the India-spec Swift, although the test mules that have been spotted did have the ADAS radar cut-out.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift features dual sensor brake support which uses a camera and a laser sensor to detect vehicles and pedestrians to prevent collisions. It does this by sending alerts, assisting in braking, and automatically applying brakes in critical situations. We hope Maruti will introduce this feature in the India-spec 2024 Swift which enhances safety especially during highway driving.
The Japan-spec 2024 Swift also features adaptive cruise control, which monitors the vehicle in front and automatically maintains a safe distance by adjusting speed. The system uses sensors to adjust acceleration and deceleration, even while driving through curves or changing lanes.

Another helpful ADAS feature in the 2024 Swift is the driver monitoring system. It features a camera integrated at the side of the infotainment system which identifies the driver's face, and analyses factors like eye movements, line of sight, and facial direction. This activates real-time alerts within the vehicle in case of drowsiness or inattentiveness, enhancing overall safety.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift features a headlight control system that optimises visibility by switching between high and low beams. It uses millimetre-wave radar and a monocular camera to adjust the high beam range and reduce glare on the vehicle ahead.
Along with adaptive cruise control, lane keep function is also activated in the 2024 Suzuki Swift. The system automatically provides steering input to keep the vehicle centred in a particular lane. It utilises information such as driving trajectory and intervenes with steering assistance if there is a high likelihood of deviation.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift also comes with a road sign recognition system, alerting the driver by displaying detected signs on the multi-information display. The system highlights signs with a buzzer alert for immediate attention and offers support for no-entry warnings and red light alerts.
In addition to the aforementioned ADAS features, the 2024 Swift is equipped with other safety support features including a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, start notification sound, 360-degree camera system, and functions that reduce engine output while starting the vehicle to prevent collisions caused by gear shift errors.
It is expected that Maruti Suzuki will launch the 2024 Swift in India sometime next year, but whether it will include these ADAS features is still a question. It will likely carry a premium over the current model, which starts from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and will rival the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Punch.
