Hero Karizma variant patented
Could be the Karizma 400
May be launched in 2026
Hero MotoCorp has patented what looks like a variant of Karizma. This could most likely be the Karizma 400 which has been spied testing.
The biggest change is going to be a new 400cc liquid-cooled engine that could come with the new Karizma. The bike should make close to 40PS to keep up with the other sub-400cc bikes in India. The patented image shows visual differences between the Karizma XMR 210 and the image with the bike in the patent image getting integrated winglets just below the headlight. Whether these are functional or just aesthetic remains to be seen. It also seems to have a larger fuel tank with beefier aesthetics – a higher capacity engine would have a comparatively lower mileage, and thus the bike would benefit from a larger fuel tank. Another addition which the Karizma 400 will receive over the Karizma XMR 210 is of an inverted fork, different seat and a single unit faring unlike the two-piece on the current Karizma XMR 210.
Hero’s current flagship is the Hero Mavrick 440 which gets a 440cc air and oil-cooled engine which makes 27PS at 6,000rpm and 36Nm at 4,000rpm. Its top-end variant is priced at Rs 2,24,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Karizma 400, when launched, would supersede the Mavrick and would become Hero’s flagship product, like the earlier Karizma.
We expect the Karizma 400 to launch in 2026 and to be priced around the Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Which would make it go against the Triumph Speed 400, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and the TVS Apache RR 310.
