The 2023 Tokyo Motor Show is now rebranded as the Japan Mobility Show and the aim is to not just focus on automobiles, but also other mobility products. One of the main participants at this event is Honda, who showcased a range of interesting concepts and different mobility solutions. Honda’s overall theme for the show was “The Power of Dreams – How we move you.”
Let us take a look at what Honda had brought in for the show.
Honda’s driverless taxi vehicle, the Cruise Origin, is expected to become a reality by early 2026 in Japan. The company has collaborated with General Motors and Cruise for this interesting concept.
It boasts of spacious interiors that can hold meetings, or passengers who can engage with each other while commuting. Thus, the aim of this service is to use the commuting time for much higher productivity while not worrying about the actual commute itself.
These offerings by Honda will allow people to move more freely across oceans in the skies. The eVTOL is an all-electric helicopter, while the HondaJet is the Japanese carmaker’s private jet. It is hoping to streamline long-distance travelling and reduce the current hurdles involved.

Despite offering many mobility solutions, it is always a question mark on the source as well as origins of the materials used. Honda is working towards ways of making its cars using reusable and recycled materials. Meet the Sustaina-C, which uses acrylic resin that has been reused and recycled. A future with conscious material usage will allow us to extend the use of the current resources which are limited in quantity.
The Honda Avatar Robot is basically a robot that can do when you’re at a different location. How you may ask? Well, thanks to remote control, the Avatar Robot will help to have active roles including those with limited mobility.
Meanwhile, the UNI-ONE, another interesting concept, especially for those with ailments, can be steered by just shifting the body weight which helps free the hands of the user. Thus, it can not only be used by someone who wants to do other tasks, but also people with limited mobility.
Saving the best for the last, Honda has brought back the iconic Prelude name with this all-electric two-door sports car concept. The Japanese carmaker has said that the all-electric Prelude Concept will showcase the ‘joy of driving’ in an electrified era while offering exhilarating performance.
