The Elevate SUV is finally here to make a name for Honda in the highly competitive compact SUV segment in India. Although it isn’t quite here yet literally, as its launch has been slated for sometime this festive season, we still have relevant dope on its powertrain specifications, dimensions and features list. So without further ado, let’s see how it stacks up against its rivals:

The Honda Elevate isn’t the longest, widest or even the tallest in its segment, and lies somewhere in the middle in terms of overall dimensions.
The Honda SUV ties with the Astor for being the second tallest of the lot, while it goes head-to-head with the Creta in terms of its track width.
The Elevate boasts a longer wheelbase than the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Hyryder, and Astor, and is just 1mm shorter than the Taigun and Kushaq.
The Citroen C3 Aircross has the longest wheelbase and the largest boot, though the latter is applicable only when its third row of seats are removed. Else, it is the Elevate that has the biggest stowage capacity of 458 litres.
*note: To make the readability easier, we’ve combined the Creta-Seltos, Kushaq-Taigun and Hyryder-Grand Vitara siblings into one column, as they share the same powertrains.

The Honda Elevate only gets a single 1.5-litre NA petrol engine option, while most of its competitors offer at least two choices.
Just like most offerings in the segment, the Elevate comes with the option of a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The fast shifting DSG (also known as DCT) is only available in the Taigun-Kushaq siblings.
Unlike the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder duo, there is no mild or strong hybrid assistance for the Elevate’s powertrain.
The Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta will soon be offered with a 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that will have segment leading numbers.

*note: fields with a ‘-’ means that the availability of the feature is yet to be confirmed.
The Honda Elevate is almost on par with the best in segment in terms of features.
It misses out on a few features like ventilated and electrically adjustable seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
Honda’s SUV offers one of the best safety packages with six airbags as standard and ADAS functionality, the latter of which is only available on the Astor.
That said, the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun have the best safety rating with a full five stars in Global NCAP’s stricter safety tests.
The Elevate boasts the biggest screen, at 10.25 inches, alongside the Creta’s and Seltos’ unit.
So that’s how the Honda Elevate stacks up against its chief rivals. The last piece of the puzzle is still pending, as its prices are yet to be announced. That said, we expect the Elevate to retail from around the Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) mark and it’ll rival all the vehicles mentioned in this story. So of course we will do a price comparison when we have all the details. Until then, head here for an in-depth overview of the Honda Elevate.
