Japanese tuner TTR Motors has developed a Honda CB1100R body kit for the Honda Grom in two versions: with and without the fairing. The Grom is a mini motorcycle built on a highly customisable platform allowing the buyers to turn it into a custom bike of their choice with a wide range of aftermarket body kits.
This Type R Mini Edition body kit successfully reincarnates the Grom into a scaled-down version of the CB1100R from the 1980s. Highlights of the kit includes the iconic boxy fairing and the curved windshield along with the tri-colour livery. Adding on to the superbike appearance are the rectangular headlight, boxy tail end, sportier handlebar, classy rectangular rear view mirrors, and integrated tank and seat section.
Interestingly, for those who would want to retain its naked bike appeal, TTR Motors also offer the body kit without the front fairing allowing the buyers to keep the stock headlight and handlebar. Everything else on this version of the kit remains the same.
Powering this one-of-a-kind minibike is an air-cooled 125cc engine producing 9.78PS and 10.5Nm. It is mated to a five-speed transmission and can achieve a top speed of 94kmph.
The kit with the fairing is priced at USD 3,050 (around Rs 2.30 lakh) and the one without it costs USD 2,615 (around Rs 1.97 lakh). Funnily, the body kit is almost the same price as the standard Honda Grom costs USD 3,399 (around Rs 2.57 lakh). Despite being pricey, the Type R Mini Edition body kit does an excellent job at making the Grom look like an 80s superbike and, well, it costs much less than the actual machine.
