New renders indicate the revival of Honda Super Four and Super Bol d’Or

Imagine this – the mind-blowing sound of an inline 4-cylinder 400cc engine! Sounds delightful doesn’t it? Kawasaki brought back this 90s trend with the ZX-4R, and oh how sweet it is! And now, Honda may have some mouthwatering plans in place, with rumours coming in of a new four-cylinder 400cc platform. These recently surfaced renders give us an idea of what we could expect from the Japanese bikemaker.

Until 2022, Honda had the legendary CB400 Super Four and Super Bol d'Or Final Edition, powered by a sick 399cc inline-four. Sadly, they were discontinued – but that is about to change. And brace yourself; it could be a scaled-down derivative of the CB650R's 650cc engine, complete with those awesome neo sports cafe styling elements and those badass round headlights!

Oh, and there could even be a Honda CB400 Super Bol d'Or edition with a sleek half-fairing! But wait, there's more! Kawasaki has already caused quite a storm with their ZX-4R, delivering a wild 80PS at 15,000rpm thanks to that ram-air induction. So, you know what that means? Honda might be cooking up a fire-breathing CBR400RR version of their 400cc beauty, ready to take on Team Green and set the streets ablaze! That said, it will still be quite the niche product, and really heavy on the pocket.

Now, remember, all this juicy info is still speculative, so no official deets just yet. But imagine a niche product like this, tailor-made for hardcore enthusiasts, and set to conquer hearts mainly in Japan and the US. Yeah, it might be a bummer for us in India. But hey, we can always admire these beasts from afar, right? The 400cc inline 4-cylinder engine renaissance is upon us, and it's going to be epic!
