Honda will soon globally discontinue their ICE (internal combustion engine) two-wheelers. The Japanese brand is working on completely electrifying their bike and scooter line-up. Honda (cars & bikes) is planning to have their entire vehicle line-up to comprise of EVs and FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles) by 2040.
Honda will be launching 10 electric two-wheelers globally by 2025, which they expect to achieve their annual sales of one million EVs by 2026. This number is expected to further grow to 3.5 million units by 2030. Honda is backing up their electrification plans by building a supporting infrastructure network. This includes developing solid-state batteries, charging networks, as well as battery swapping networks.
We recently reported that Honda India is working on the Activa Electric, which could very well be a part of this global electrification plan. There should also be more India-specific two-wheelers in this plan, which we should know about soon.
