Hop Electric has launched its first e-bike, the Oxo, in India in two variants: standard and Oxo X. Here’s all you need to know about the latest addition to the electric motorcycle segment in India.
In terms of appearance, the Hop Oxo adopts a complete commuter design language with a hint of sportiness. It also resembles the Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 2, particularly the headlight design. The overall proportions are slim and compact and quite appropriate for street riding.
Powering the Oxo e-bike is a 3kW (continuous) BLDC hub motor with a peak power output of 5.2kW and 185Nm. The Oxo X variant, on the other hand, gets the 3kW (continuous) same motor but produces 6.3kW peak power and 200Nm. The motor is paired to a non-removable 3.75kWh Lithium-ion battery pack on both variants.
The Oxo is claimed to reach a top speed of 90kmph, whereas the Oxo X is slightly faster at 95kmph. The e-bike is said to do a 0-40kmph sprint in 4 seconds.
In the eco mode, the Oxo claims a real-world range of 150km on a single charge which is quite impressive. It takes around five hours to completely juice up the batteries with an 850W home charger.
For features, the e-bike flaunts a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster with 4G connectivity. The mobile application unlocks features like distance to empty, navigation, speed control, geo-fencing and ride stats. It also features an anti-theft alarm, park assist, reverse assist, USB charging and regenerative braking. It also has three riding modes: Eco, Power and Sport, with an exclusive Turbo mode on the X variant.
The Oxo standard and Oxo X are priced at Rs 1,24,999 and Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy and GST) respectively. Hop Electric is offering a 3-year warranty on the Oxo with a 4-year warranty on the battery pack. Bookings for the e-bike have already commenced at Rs 999 and the deliveries will start from October 1st.
The electric bike goes up against the likes of the Revolt RV400, Tork Kratos and the recently launched Oben Rorr.
