The Horwin SK3 cost twice the Ather 450X

While electric scooters are practicality oriented, it’s seldom that you find one which looks swanky as well. But it seems that Horwin, an Austria-based EV maker has got the recipe right with the new SK3.

The Horwin SK3 features quite a sleek and sharp design. Its fascia houses twin LED lights and reminds us of the BMW C 400 GT. Moreover, the SK3 gets a maxi-scooter approach but its spine doesn’t seem as tall as the ones we usually see.

It’s powered by a 6.2 kW motor paired to a 2.52kWh battery. Horwin claims that the top speed is limited to 90kmph and the maximum range is 80km. However, there’s an optional battery which allows you double the range to 160km. But, inclusion of the second battery will reduce the underseat storage.

Feature wise, it gets a fully digital console and keyless operation. The Horwin SK3 is sprung on a conventional telescopic front fork and dual rear springs. The braking hardware consists of a front disc and rear drum unit with CBS. It rides on 14-inch front and rear wheels.

It’s priced at EUR 3990 (approximately Rs 3.42 lakh) and is available in three colours: metallic blue, black and metallic grey. Considering what it offers and the asking price, the Horwin SK3 is a bit too expensive to enter the Indian market. However, we have quite a few EV bikes and scooters here that you can check out
