If you think the Hyosung GV300S looks a bit like the Harley-Davidson Iron 883, you are not alone. Hyosung has introduced the 300cc motorcycle in Europe for EUR 4,990 (around Rs 4 lakh).

The GV300S gets propper bobber credentials in the form of a raised 12.5-litre fuel tank, chopped rear fender, and a fat front tyre. It gets a low 710mm seat and weighs just 172 kg. Both traits should make it accessible to novice riders. The all-black treatment gives it a mean look. It features a semi-digital instrument console that includes a speedometer, tachometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge.
Power comes from a 296cc liquid-cooled V-twin motor that delivers 30.4PS and 25.6Nm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension setup comprises telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. It gets alloy wheels with chunky tyres. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends.
Hyosung has had a presence in India since 2003. Until recently, it used to sell motorcycles under the DSK group banner. In March last year, Hyosung entered into a partnership with Kinetic’s Motoroyale multi-brand banner, which also housed MV Agusta, FB Mondial, SWM and Norton. We haven’t witnessed any development since then. If Hyosung does begin selling its motorcycles in India under the Motoroyale banner, there is a strong possibility it could launch the GV300S here.
