Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied in South Korea.
Spy shots reveal an updated design featuring new headlights and a new grille.
Will be getting a feature-loaded cabin carried over from the Creta.
Likely to retain current 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
Expected to command a price premium over the current Alcazar.
Expected to launch in India by the end of 2024.
The Hyundai Alcazar facelift has been spotted in South Korea, once again, revealing its new front design. After giving a facelift to the Creta earlier this year, Hyundai will be shifting its attention to the Alcazar, whose facelift will be due this year. Since it is essentially a stretched three-row version of the Creta SUV, we expect it to get a similar cabin, but there will be changes to the exterior to distinguish it from the Creta.
As revealed from the spy shots, the facelifted Alcazar will get a redesigned fascia which will be in line with the facelifted Creta’s design. However, to set it apart from its 5-seater sibling, it will get a larger grille with a slightly different design. A new set of square-shaped LED headlights will make its way to the Alcazar. Even though we couldn’t decipher a lot, we can clearly see a new design for the alloy wheels, which will further distinguish it from the 2024 Creta.
As seen in previous shots of the Alcazar facelift, the rear will feature a pair of vertically stacked connected LED tail lamps and a dual-tip exhaust system similar to the current model.
The interior of the facelifted Alcazar is yet to be revealed, but we expect it to get a cabin similar to that of the facelifted Creta, albeit in a different colour scheme. Like the current car, you can expect it to be offered in both six-seater and seven-seater configurations.
Features that are expected to be carried over from the Creta are a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera system. A key addition to the upcoming Alcazar will be Level-2 ADAS, likely to be borrowed from the Creta. Apart from that, the safety kit is expected to include ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.
The 2024 Alcazar is expected to retain the same engines which are offered on the current model. The engine options include a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine which can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Hyundai Alcazar which currently retails in India is priced between Rs 16.78 lakh and Rs 12.28 lakh (ex-showroom). With the facelift, we expect a price hike of around Rs 1 lakh. The Alcazar rivals the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.
