Hyundai India has given a sneak peek of the upcoming Creta and Alcazar Adventure Editions ahead of their imminent launch. Both these models get a raft of cosmetic enhancements and upgrades similar to what we have seen in Tata’s Camo Edition. We suspect them to be offered in higher-end variants with all the bells and whistles.
Both the Adventure Edition models come finished in the Exter’s newly introduced Ranger Khaki green hue. All the chrome elements on the grille and even the alloys have been blacked out, giving it a stealthier look. Also, they now get ‘Adventure Edition’ badging on the front fenders to denote that you’re driving this special edition model.
Hyundai is yet to tease the cabin of these Adventure Editions, but we suspect them to come with an all-black hue and probably green inserts, like the Exter. Don’t expect any changes to the features list, which isn’t a bad thing as both these models are loaded to the gills.
Highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, cruise control and a wireless phone charger. They get safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Alcazar takes a step forward with the presence of a fully digital 10.25-inch driver’s display.
There won’t be any changes to the engine options of the Creta and Alcazar.
The Creta gets a choice between a 115PS 1.5-litre petrol and a 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed manual is standard, while automatic options include a CVT and a 6-speed torque converter with the petrol and diesel units, respectively.
On the other hand, the Alcazar gets a 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. Here also, a 6-speed manual is standard. And if you want an auto ‘box, your choices are a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with the turbo-petrol and a 6-speed torque converter with the diesel engine.
We suspect these editions to command a minor premium over the regular variants of the Creta and Alcazar, which start at Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 16.78 lakh, respectively. The Creta locks horns with the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara and upcoming Honda Elevate. The Alcazar, on the other hand, goes up against Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700.
