The Hyundai i10 hatchback, known as the Grand i10 Nios in India, has always had slightly different aesthetics from the Nios, alongside features such as driver-assistance tech (ADAS) that the Indian model doesn’t get. Now, shortly after Hyundai India launched the facelifted i10 Nios, the carmaker’s European division has unveiled the facelifted version of the i10 that looks cooler than ever.
The European i10’s design changes are subtle, limited to revised bumpers and new alloy wheels. At the front, the i10 retains its sleek headlights (similar units as the India-spec model) and two-part grille with triangular foglight surrounds. It has cool-looking LED DRLs that are now integrated into the upper grille.
Little has changed in the profile, where the European i10 is largely identical to its Indian counterpart. The EU-spec model continues to get a contrast black roof option that was recently introduced with select colour options (Spark Green and Polar White) in the India-spec Grand i10 Nios. In addition, the i10 in Europe also has new, drool-worthy alloy wheels (15 or 16 inches) with aero-like design elements.
At the rear, the i10 has a tailgate design that’s distinct from the Grand i10 Nios, which has connected taillights. The EU-spec hatch has a revised taillight design with new Y-shaped LED elements. The N Line variant also comes with dual exhaust tips and distinct alloys, but it gets fewer styling changes up front than the standard hatchback.
Inside, the European i10 looks largely identical to the India-spec model, but the N Line variant gets a retro tartan seat upholstery – another element that adds to our envy. That said, the India-spec and EU-spec i10 hatchbacks now look more different than ever before.
In India, the Grand i10 Nios is well equipped for its price, with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, up to six airbags and a reversing camera. But the European hatchback also gets a fully digital driver’s display and driver-assistance features such as forward collision avoidance and lane-following assist.
It’s also more practical, with a two-level boot floor rack and one-handed rear seat folding.
Although Hyundai hasn’t revealed the engine options for the EU-spec i10, it should get the same naturally aspirated (NA) 67PS 1-litre and 84PS 1.2-litre petrol engines alongside a 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine option. In India, the hatchback only gets an 83PS 1.2-litre NA petrol engine; the 100PS turbo-petrol option is no longer offered on the facelifted i10 Nios.

The EU-spec Hyundai i10 was already a good-looking hatchback, and Hyundai has kept the overall aesthetics of the i10 intact. Later on, we could see some of the features of the EU-spec model offered on the Grand i10 Nios in India as well.
