Hyundai has unveiled the refreshed i20 N Line in Europe. While the updated i20 N Line was launched in India late last year, the global-spec model features similar cosmetic updates with N Line elements over the standard model. Let's delve into all the details and differences between the Euro-spec i20 N Line and the model sold on our shores.
Design
The global-spec i20 N Line features a similar cascading grille with N Line badging and updated LED DRLs signature, akin to what we saw with the standard i20 facelift. However, the global-spec i20 N Line lacks the red inserts seen on the front lip and side sills of the model sold on our shores, which does help it give a racier look.
That said, the side profile does look meaner than our car, courtesy these new blacked-out 17-inch rims that give the car a sportier stance. In India, you get smaller 16-inch rims. Coming to the rear, it showcases a similar design with a dual-tip exhaust outlet and a distinct bumper that differentiates it from the standard i20. Additionally, the global-spec i20 N Line offers nine colour options over the five colour options offered with the i20 N Line in India.
Interior

Inside the global-spec i20 N Line boasts a similar all-black theme with red inserts throughout the cabin that add to the aggressive look. The seat upholstery, steering wheel and gear knob boot also features red stitching to enhance the sporty feel, while the sport seats in the global-spec i20 N Line provide additional support, useful if your driver decides to become adventurous at a set of corners.
Features
Globally, the i20 N Line comes equipped with 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a multi-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display (not available in India), a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry with push-button start, and cruise control.
Safety-wise, it gets ABS with EBD, multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and reverse parking camera with sensors. Additionally, the global-spec i20 N Line gets ADAS features like front collision avoidance assist and blind-spot collision avoidance assist.
Powertrain
Underneath the hood, the i20 N Line sold in international markets is powered by the same 1-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 120 PS, but it puts out 200 Nm (+28Nm over the India-spec model) as it is equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. While details on transmission options are not yet available, in India, it should be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. Additionally, it features mechanical tweaks in suspension and steering for a more sharper handling.
Pricing-wise, the i20 N Line in India is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 12.51 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes directly with the Tata Altroz Turbo while being a sportier alternative to models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
