New Hyundai Tucson Enters The Indian Market At Rs 27.7 Lakh

Hyundai has announced the prices of its all-new flagship SUV, the Tucson, ranging from Rs 27.7 lakh for the base Platinum variant to Rs 34.49 lakh for the top-spec Signature diesel AWD (all prices ex-showroom pan-India). The 2022 Tucson has a sharp, sleek aesthetic based on the Parametric Dynamic design language. It’s the first Hyundai in India to feature advanced driver assistance and active safety (ADAS) tech and gets petrol and diesel automatic powertrains.

Both variants of the petrol-powered Tucson undercut the base-spec diesel Platinum. All-wheel drive (AWD) is only available in the range-topping Signature diesel variant.

Hyundai Tucson engine specs

The Tucson’s base petrol engine is a naturally aspirated 2-litre unit, churning out 156PS and 192Nm. It’s paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission on both variants. The 2-litre turbo diesel engine is more powerful at 186PS and 416Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel-drive system.

Which features are present in the new Tucson? 

The Tucson gets a long list of premium features and equipment such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, 10-way powered driver’s seat with memory function, 10.25-inch floating digital driver’s display and a similarly sized touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

It’s the first Hyundai SUV in India to feature a Level 2 ADAS system that includes adaptive cruise control with stop function, lane following and lane-keeping assist, adaptive headlights, blind spot monitoring, and driver attention warning. In addition, it gets a surround-view camera, rear collision avoidance (while reversing) and forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection and junction turning assist.
