The first thing that the teaser showcases is the connected LED tailight setup of the new Verna, and while this isn’t an all new revelation, it still reveals the ‘1.5-litre turbo’ wordmark, which confirms the new powertrain for the compact sedan.
The teaser then dives straight inside the cabin where it reveals the new steering column and the digital instrument cluster behind it. And while this isn’t very clearly visible, you can see that the Venue-like driver’s display is based on a single bezel which also mounts the infotainment system on it, likely to be a 10.25-inch unit.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will also notice an icon for ‘lane keep assist’, meaning that the new Verna will be packing ADAS functionality. Apart from the lane-keep assist, its suite could comprise features like adaptive cruise control and auto-emergency braking.
The driver’s display also gives away the drives mode that the compact sedan will get - Eco, Normal and Sport. just managing a peek, the paddle shifters are visible behind the steering, which will likely be used for the DCT powertrain.
While these features haven’t been confirmed yet, the Verna should further feature equipment like an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, up to six airbags, ESC, and hill hold assist.
As for the powertrain options, the new Verna won’t get a diesel powertrain option. The outgoing model’s 115PS 1.5-litre petrol engine will be retained and alongside it will be a new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.
