Hyundai has officially teased its upcoming all electric micro SUV called the Inster. Essentially an EV based on the internationally sold Casper, the Inster EV will be Hyundai’s smallest EV offering till date. The Hyundai Inster EV is all set to debut at the Busan International Mobility Show slated to take place from June 27 to July 7,2024 in South Korea.
The official images of the upcoming Inster EV, released by the Korean automaker, hints upon a lot of design ques which itwill carry. A lot of styling elements have been derived from the Hyundai Casper and Hyundai Ioniq 5’s design language.
For instance, the circular LED headlamp setup is reminiscent of the Casper, while the the pixel-element signature turn indicators and tail lights, add to the overall character of the Inster EV and are in line with the current-gen Hyundai’s design philosophy. These pixel signature elements can be found on the Ioniq 5, currently on sale in India.
A high bonnet position with bold shoulder lines, gives the Inster EV a hunkered up stance. Squared wheel arches, large 4-spoke alloy wheel design and roof-rails further give it an SUV character. The Hyundai Inster being an EV should have an enclosed grill with the charging port situated a bit off-set up front.

Not much is revealed about its interior, but we reckon it should be similar to that of the Casper, which gets a practical cabin with flat folding seats at the front and rear.Furthermore, bits like vegan leather and other eco-friendly materials can be used for the interior trims.
It should be feature packed up to the brim with niceties like a large floating infotainment screen with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, a digital driver’s display, driving modes, regenerative braking, cruise control and an automatic climate control unit.
On the safety front, it should be equipped with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control system, hill-start and hill-hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Hyundai hasn’t yet officially released its powertrain and battery pack figures, but have announced that it will boast a WLTP claimed range of 355 km on a single charge. Its India arrival is yet to be confirmed, but if the Inster comes here, it will rival other compact EVs in the market like Tata Tiago EV, Citroen eC3 and MG Comet.
