MG India has introduced two new special Storm edition variants for its flagship SUV, the Gloster. After the Blackstorm edition, make way for Desertstorm and Snowstorm editions which have been launched at a price of Rs 41.05 lakh (ex-showroom). In this article, we take a detailed look at the Snowstorm edition in our in-depth image gallery.
The Gloster Snowstorm edition sports a Pearl White shade with blacked-out accents all around. To start with the front fascia, all the chrome has now been deleted and the grill is painted in a gloss black finish.
Down below, the skid plate on the bumper gets a lip garnish treatment in black with red accents to accentuate the sporty stance.
The all-LED headlamp setup now gets blackened inlays with red inserts for an aggressive look.
The side profile of the Gloster has always been dominatingly large. The cosmetic changes done to the sides have further given it a masculine presence. To start with, the A, B, and C-pillars along with the roof have been blacked out. The door handles and window sill lining are also black, instead of the chrome in the standard variants.
The ORVMs get a sporty treatment with black and red inserts.
Further, you get a fender garnish strip along with ‘Snowstorm’ badging on the front fenders.
The 19-inch alloy wheels are also painted in black with brake callipers in contrasting red colour to enhance the sportiness.
Not much has been changed at the rear. The Gloster Snowstorm gets a faux diffuser painted in gloss black with red accents along with the Gloster badging in black colour.
At first glance, the most prominent change is the interior colour. Unlike the tan interiors found on standard variants, the Snowstorm edition gets an all-black interior theme. The dashboard and door inlays get a generous amount of leather and silver inlays along with white stitching. The centre console gets a faux carbon-fibre finish.
It gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and an 8-inch display nestled between the analogue dials.
The Gloster Snowstorm edition is available only as a 7-seater, while the Desert Storm gets the option of both 6 and 7 seats.
Other features found in the MG Gloster include a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function for the driver, 360-degree camera and ADAS Level 2 features like lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking. Both the special editions can further be equipped with seat massager, themed carpet matts and premium speakers from JBL, at the dealership level.
The MG Gloster Snowstorm can be opted in two different powertrains; the 4x4 variant gets a 2-litre twin turbocharged diesel engine producing 215 PS and 478 Nm while the 4x2 variant gets a 2-litre turbo diesel engine producing 161 PS and 373 Nm. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The MG Gloster Snowstorm 4x2 variant is priced at Rs 41.05 lakh (ex-showroom) and the 4x4 variant is priced at Rs 43.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The MG Gloster rivals other full size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
