UPDATE: Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2024 Swift in India At Rs 6.49 Lakh
The new-gen 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift has been leaked fully ahead of its launch on May 9, giving us a clear first look. The fourth-gen Maruti Swift 2024 has started arriving at certain dealerships and pre-launch bookings are open. Without wasting any time, let’s get right into the details:
On the outside, the India-spec 2024 Swift looks very similar to the international model. The front has a Mini Cooper-like vibe, with the grille dominating the face, flanked by a pair of sleeker LED headlights. The India-spec model also gets LED fog lamps, a feature that isn’t offered in the international model.
Shifting focus to the side, its profile is very much reminiscent of the outgoing car and looks familiar. You get 10-spoke dual-tone alloys that have a different design when compared to the model sold overseas. Keen eyed viewers will also notice that the rear door handles are placed in its conventional place as opposed to the C-pillar mounted ones of the outgoing Swift.

At the rear, the new Swift gets updated LED tail lamps with an inverted C-shaped insignia.
Inside, the new-gen 2024 Swift’s dashboard layout takes inspiration from newer Maruti cars like the Fronx and Baleno. In the India-spec model, the dashboard is finished in all-black cabin with contrasting silver elements as opposed to the black / grey dual-tone finish of the international Swift. It also gets a host of new features, which we’ll talk about in the next section.

New features onboard the India-spec 2024 Swift include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless phone charger. Bits such as automatic climate control, keyless entry with push button start, steering mounted audio controls and cruise control have been carried forward.
Passenger safety should be improved, with the introduction of six airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors with camera and ABS with EBD. The lack of a radar or a front-facing camera means the India-spec Swift won’t get ADAS, which is offered in the international model.
A leaked document has revealed that the 2024 Swift will get the new 82PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine replacing the 90PS four-cylinder engine. A 5-speed manual will be offered as standard. And these images confirm that the India-spec model will get a 5-speed AMT instead of the CVT offered overseas.
The new-gen 2024 Swift is expected to cost slightly more than the outgoing model, which was priced from Rs 6.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and will be a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite.
