It gets styling similar to the bikes from the CT lineup and some elements from the Bajaj Pulsar NS125

Bajaj seems to be working on a new motorcycle as it has been spotted testing recently, and judging the pictures, it looks like the bike will have bodywork inspired from Bajaj’s CT lineup along with the similar knuckle guards and a braced handlebar.

Bajaj’s upcoming bike gets a telescopic fork, front disc brake, raised handlebar, upright riding stance and the alloy wheel design seemingly borrowed from the Pulsar NS125. The rear suspension setup seems to be a monoshock. The test mule has no contours in its tank design. Taking this into account, along with the fat body panels, we think that this is the CNG bike Bajaj has been working on for sometime.

Just a few months ago, details about an upcoming CNG bike from Bajaj surfaced online via some patent documents. Now, the image of the test mule, the frame appears to be a tweaked perimeter unit from the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. The difference here, however, is that the bike uses a special perimeter frame holding the CNG tank between the upper braces of the frame, a space usually reserved for the fuel tank.

An important point to note is that CNG is not as power-dense as petrol. Hence, to get performance levels and mileage equivalent to that of a 125cc petrol-powered bike, the upcoming motorcycle may have an engine displacement of 150cc.

It’s safe to say the launch of the upcoming CNG bike from Bajaj is at least a year or so away.  Summing up, a CNG bike will be a great middle ground between electric and petrol-powered bikes, as EVs still need a few years to fully tackle the range anxiety, charging infrastructure issues, and of course the high costs associated with electric motorcycles.
