In terms of features, the Commander shares its features with the Compass, including a digital driver’s display, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats with ventilation, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, powered tailgate, wireless phone charger, and auto headlights and wipers.
Safety kit includes six airbags (standard), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and ABS with EBD.
The Meridian gets the Compass’ 170PS 2-litre diesel engine, paired with the options of a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is offered as an option with the automatic transmission. Plus, this time around, the front-wheel drivetrain can be specced with an automatic as well.
