We know that Kawasaki is on course for introducing its EV lineup. Now, company president Hiroshi Ito has announced that Kawasaki will be launching three new EVs by the end of 2022, followed by seven more electric and hybrid two-wheelers by the end of 2025.
While this may seem quite ambitious, bear in mind that Kawasaki has already given the world a taste of its EV plans. First, it released a video of its electric prototype bike doing the rounds on a racetrack. This was followed by a video highlighting Kawasaki’s hybrid powertrain.
And finally, in May this year, Kawasaki filed trademarks for ‘E-boost’, which again hints at hybrid powertrains. Three new Kawasaki EVs (or hybrids) in the next twelve months doesn’t seem too ambitious now, does it?
So what does this mean from an Indian perspective? Well, as you know, Kawasaki is quite active in our market, introducing new models from time to time. That gives us hope that their EVs will be brought here, but probably some time after they’ve made their international debuts.
