The upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spotted once again in India, this time the spy video giving a glimpse of its rear profile. The new-gen 2024 Swift, which broke cover at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, is expected to be launched here sometime in 2024. Here’s what we can discern from this particular test mule.
While the overall rear design looks similar to the current-gen model, there are some new design touches such as a revised bumper and new tail lamps with an inverted C motif. Earlier spy shots gave us a glimpse of the Swift’s front-end design, details of which you can find here.
We are yet to get our hands on the interior spy images of the 2024 Swift, but the model earlier showcased at the Japan Mobility Show featured a new dashboard layout with a floating touchscreen infotainment unit, along with AC controls lifted from the Fronx. It also sports a new flat-bottom 3-spoke steering wheel and an overall sportier cabin theme finished in black and white. As for features, you can expect a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless phone charging and retained features such as cruise control and keyless entry with push-button start/stop.
Although Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed ADAS for India, the earlier test mule had a radar cutout, hinting at the potential inclusion of ADAS, along with standard safety features that should include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a reverse parking camera with parking sensors.
As for the powertrain, it will feature a new Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the current four-cylinder unit. It is expected to deliver similar power figures of 89PS and 113Nm and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options in India.
The next-generation Swift is expected to be launched next year, and it will come with a higher price tag compared to the current model which starts from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against cars such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Punch, and Renault Triber.
