Honda Amaze pictures leaked on the internet
Images shows off its exterior and interior
Official design sketches are already out
New generation brings significant changes to Amaze both in terms of design and features.
Expect to keep the same 1.2-litre petrol engine with 90 PS and 110 Nm
Honda’s new-generation Amaze real-life pictures have been leaked on the internet ahead of its launch on December 4. The leaked images offer the closest look of its design and interior. It has not been long since we covered the news of the all-new Amaze about to launch in India after which the carmaker had released official design sketches of the upcoming sedan. These leaked images give us a first glimpse of the production version.
As seen in the leaked pictures, the new Honda Amaze closely resembles the City in terms of exterior design. Not only that, there are also some styling cues taken from the Elevate, for example, the large grille. The images have only front and rear ends of the sedan, which shows the thick eyebrow pattern LED DRLs, a prominent chrome stripe running across the edge of the bonnet, and LED headlights.
At the rear, the new Amaze gets City-style LED taillights, which also retains 3 vertical lines elements shown in the official design sketches. However, the taillight units appear chunky and less slim compared to the design in the sketches. That said, the front and rear bumpers somewhat resemble the layout of the model in the design sketches. Interestingly, there is a new i-VTEC badge on the boot.
Inside, the leaked pictures show the dashboard of the new Honda Amaze, which shares design similarity with the layout shown in the sketches. It has a dual-tone cabin theme – beige and black. Additionally, there is a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system – likely to be an 8-inch unit, and new air-con controls.
The new generation Amaze is expected to come equipped with a host of features, such as a semi-analogue display (like the City/Elevate), a new steering wheel borrowed from its siblings, a wireless phone charger, 6 speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, connected car tech, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, powered ORVMs with auto-fold function, and USB Type-C charging port.
In terms of safety equipment, Honda is likely to offer six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold control, reverse parking camera with sensors, and three point seat belts and reminders for all passengers. If the design sketches are to go by, the new Amaze may also boast Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with basic functionality, including lane departure warning and front collision warning.
It is likely that Honda will continue to offer the upcoming Amaze with the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine as the outgoing model that produces 90 PS and 110 Nm. The transmission, a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic, could also be carried over. However, the engine may receive a different tune for improved performance and fuel efficiency.
We expect the next generation Honda Amaze to command a premium over the current model, which retails at Rs 7.19 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The new prices could start from Rs 7.40 and go up to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
