The idea of an adventure scooter is exciting, for, giving a utilitarian two-wheeler a dash of wildness sounds appealing to even the non-ardent petrolhead. The best example of such an adventure scooter would be the 2023 iteration of the Honda ADV160, which has replaced the popular ADV150 in the international market.
The 2023 ADV160 comes with new colourways and snazzy graphics. The two new shades – Mat Charcoal Grey Metallic, and Vivacity Red – portray a youthful look, while also complementing the scooter’s brawny aesthetic. In addition to the colourways, the ADV160 gets gold badging and an adjustable windscreen.
It is powered by a 157cc engine that produces 16PS and 14.7Nm, which is a significant boost compared to the ADV150’s 14.5PS and 13.8Nm. The ADV160 also gets Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), the brand’s lingo for traction control, along with dual-channel ABS, an idle start-stop system, LED lighting, smart key, revised LCD instrument console and a USB charger.
The ADV160 is priced at RM 12,999, which is approximately around Rs 2.44 lakh, in Malaysia, which is on the premium side of the spectrum. But hey, this scooter does make for an impressive package. As much as we’d love to see the ADV160 make its way to our shores, and take on the Yamaha Aerox 155, Aprilia SXR 160 and Keeway Vieste 300, it is likely that the next Honda scooter we’d get would be the Activa 7G.
