Made-In-India Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door Breaks Cover In Indonesia

The made-in-India Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door has now made its debut in Indonesia at the ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show 2024. It’s yet another international market where you’ve the option to pick from the smaller three-door and five-door model. 

In terms of design, the Indonesian Jimny 5-door looks exactly the same as the India-spec model. So you still get that cute boxy design with a slatted grille, round LED headlights and 15-inch alloy wheels. Fancy taking a closer look at the Jimny 5-door? On the inside, the dashboard design and layout hasn’t seen any changes. But the Indonesian model misses out push button start, a minor convenience feature the India-spec SUV offers. Rest of the kit such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, headlight washers, six airbags and electronic stability control. 

The Indonesian Jimny is propelled by the familiar 1.5-litre petrol engine, teamed with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In India, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is priced from Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, both of which are currently offered in their three-door guise. Down the road, both of the Jimny’s rivals will be introduced with larger five-door iterations.
