Mahindra has announced a recall of the XUV700 and XUV400 SUVs on our shores. The SUV marque said 1,08,306 units of the XUV700 manufactured from June 8, 2021 to June 28, 2023 have been affected. On the other hand, 3,560 units of the XUV400 manufactured from February 16, 2023 to June 5, 2023 have been called back.
The XUV700 has been recalled due to the potential risk of a cut in its wiring loom, which may lead to excessive heating in the wiring. For the XUV400, the SUV marque said it’s being called back to check the spring return action of the brake potentiometer, which Mahindra said might be ineffective.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Mahindra to bring in their cars for inspection. Post that, the SUV marque will – if needed – replace the affected part at no extra cost.

Recalls might sound a bit irritating, but it’s a good thing as manufacturers are ensuring that their vehicles are niggle-free and perform at their full potential. We would suggest you get your vehicle inspected at the earliest to ensure that it runs without any issues, especially in the long run.
