Mahindra Thar And Scorpio Classic Get A New Shade Of Black

Mahindra has given the colour palette of the Scorpio Classic and Thar SUVs a slight update. There isn’t any addition or deletion in the existing lineup of shades, rather the renaming of one. The black shade, previously called Napoli Black, has now been renamed to Stealth Black. 

So the Thar continues to be available in five shades, namely Red Rage, Deep Grey, Stealth Black, Everest White, and the new Desert Fury. The Scorpio Classic, on the other hand, offers four colour options: Galaxy Grey, Everest White, Stealth Black and Molten Red Rage. 

While there is no visual difference for this renamed Stealth Black hue, it does seem more fitting to the demeanors of the two SUVs. The Napoli Black shade nomenclature hasn’t been removed entirely from Mahindra’s lineup, as it still continues in the likes of the XUV700 and Scorpio N. In fact, Mahindra recently made the Napoli Black shade available across the XUV700’s variant lineup, which was previously limited to the top-spec variants. 

Prices for both the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Thar are unchanged. The former’s prices range between Rs 13.58 lakh and Rs 17.34 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Thar is sold from Rs 11.25 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Scorpio Classic serves as an affordable alternative to the Scorpio and rivals the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Skoda Kushaq. The Thar rivals the Force Gurkha and Maruti Jimny.
