The Mahindra Thar Roxx has racked up 1,76,218 bookings in an hour since official bookings began today. These numbers are staggering and show how popular the nameplate is on our shores. In fact, most dealerships said the Thar Roxx was commanding a waiting period of up to three months before official bookings began and the wait is expected to get longer from now onwards. So for those of you who had their eyes set on the Thar Roxx, we advise you to join the que as soon as possible. 

The Thar Roxx is more than an extended version of the smaller 3-door model and it stands out with its own unique presence. It sports C-shaped LED DRLs, LED projector headlights, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and distinctive LED tail lamps. Inside, the Roxx boasts a more premium black/white cabin theme, while the four-wheel drive variants are offered with a darker brown/black interior. Though if you want your Roxx 4WD with the darker interior theme, you can bring it home by January 2025.

In terms of features, the Thar Roxx gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, cruise control and ventilated front seats.

Safety-wise, it gets six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, front and rear parking sensors and ADAS.

Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx with two engine options, along with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrain options. Detailed powertrain specifications for both choices are listed below. Do note that the four-wheel driven Thar Roxx is available only with diesel engine. 

Prices for the Thar Roxx range between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom), this also includes its 4x4 variants. It locks horns with the Force Gurkha 5-door, while serving a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
