Mahindra Thar Waiting Period Detailed: Up To 4 Months In These Top Cities

The Mahindra Thar, ever since its launch, has been a popular lifestyle offering for the mass market and a common sight on Indian roads. The Thar continues to enjoy high popularity thanks to its off-roading capabilities, road presence, and powerful engines. If you decide to get yourself one this April, it will make you wait for a few months before finally entering your garage. 

Let’s take a look at at the waiting period for the Thar in these major cities of India:

• As seen in the table above, you can expect an average waiting period of 3 months to get the off-roader home. The Thar will make you wait for a maximum period of 4 months.

• Folks in Mumbai, Jaipur and Kolkata, if lucky, can get the Thar home in ‘just’ 2 months. 

• It is important to note that the delivery time can vary depending on the variant, powertrain and colour selected.

The Thar is available with three engine options. The 150 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and 130 PS 2.2-litre diesel engine is available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options on the 4WD variants. Meanwhile, the RWD variant also gets a 118 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine option. Do note that you only get a 6-speed manual transmission with the turbo-petrol engine on the rear-wheel-drive model.

Mahindra is also going to launch a 5-door version of the Thar. The longer wheelbase version won’t just have extra doors, but will also have more premium features over the currently sold  3-door version of the Thar.
