Don’t hold your breath, because we can only expect to see the first of these SUVs in 2025

  • Will be based on a new ground-up EV platform.

  • First production model is expected in 2025.

Mahindra has announced that it’ll unveil three new concept electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its ‘Born EV’ lineup of future models. The concept vehicles have been designed by Mahindra Advanced Design Europe which is headquartered in the UK. The first production-spec Born EV is expected to arrive sometime between 2025 and 2026.

It’s clear from the video that Mahindra has three Born EV models in the pipeline, not two as we had previously reported. Each of the concept SUVs has C-shaped LED headlamps and taillights, and despite the dim lighting, you can make out their sloping rooflines and shared design language.

The Born EV concept vehicles will be underpinned by a new, dedicated electric car platform. It’s the first ground-up platform from Mahindra – the eVerito and upcoming XUV300 electric are based on ICE vehicle platforms modified for EV powertrains.

We could also get our first glimpse of Mahindra’s new ‘human-machine interface’ at the July unveiling. HMI is a common term for a spectrum of communication, infotainment and connected car technologies for Mahindra’s future models.
