Mahindra Trademarks Bunch Of Names For Thar 5-door Including “Thar Armada”

One of the most anticipated models for 2024, without doubt, is the new Mahindra Thar 5-door. And the upcoming SUV will bear a different name to have a distinction over the existing Thar 3-door. Now, the SUV manufacturer has trademarked seven names for the Thar 5-door, which could be used for the final model. 

Thar 5-door Trademarked Names

The names are:

• Thar Armada 

• Thar Roxx

• Thar Gladius

• Thar Rex

• Thar Savannah

• Thar Centurion

A point to note here is that all these new names are used as a suffix and have primarily retained the Thar name. Our guess is that Mahindra could christen the upcoming 5-door model as the Thar Armada, as the moniker carries a history in the Indian market. Back in the 1990s, the Mahindra Armada was a long wheelbase version of the old Mahindra jeep and was intended for urban markets that required increased practicality. Since the new Thar 5-door aims to cater to a similar need for fans of the 3-door SUV, it presents a prime opportunity for Mahindra to revive the Armada name. 

Thar 5-door Trivia 

The Thar 5-door will be more than just an elongated three-door model. It will boast redesigned elements on the outside for distinction. And on the inside, spy shots have shown us that it will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a sunroof. Thar 5-door Expected Launch And Rivals 

One can expect prices of the upcoming Thar 5-door to be out sometime by mid-2024 and it will command a premium over the three-door Thar, which starts from Rs 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny while locking horns with the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door.
