With the introduction of the new variants, prices for the Nexon petrol start at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel variants start at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is safe to say that these updates are in response to the newly launched Mahindra XUV 3XO’s aggressive pricing, starting at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Underneath the hood, the Nexon comes with two engine options - a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes 120 PS and 170 Nm or a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 115 PS and 260 Nm. The base variants powered by the petrol engine are offered with a 5-speed manual, while the diesel only gets a 6-speed manual.
As you look at pricier variants of the Nexon, you get the option of a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with the petrol engine. Meanwhile, the diesel variants are offered with a 6-speed AMT being the only automatic option available.
The Tata Nexon now starts from Rs 7.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 15.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon is a part of a fiercely competitive segment, where it rivals many sub-compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger.
