The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been making headlines time and time again – for all different reasons. First came the polarising styling, then came the segment-first features, and then its bookings numbers. But this time around, it is the waiting period of the 3XO that’s making the headlines, and for a good reason.
It’s just been slightly over a month since Mahindra launched the 3XO, and surprisingly, the waiting periods for it have already soared up to six months in select cities. If you were planning to book one now, here’s how long you’ll have to wait in your city:

Bangalore seems to have the highest waiting period, of up to 6 months
Depending on the variant selected, you can get a 3XO at the earliest in Pune, within 2 months
Most cities have a waiting period of 5 months
Cities like Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Lucknow have a waiting period of up to 4 months
The high waiting period is despite Mahindra delivering 1500 units across the country on the first day of delivery commencement, followed by deliveries of more than 2500 units on the second day. That’s a healthy number indeed, but if the demand for the 3XO keeps up, Mahindra might have a XUV700-like situation on its hands, wherein the waiting periods were going up to 1 year in certain cities.

Hopefully, Mahindra will ramp up production and keep these waiting times in check. You can read our first drive review to know what the new Mahindra SUV is all about. Prices for the 3XO range between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh. It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
