The Mahindra XUV700 is due to get its all-electric variant by the end of 2024, previewed in concept form as the XUV.e8, with a fresh design language inside and out. Now, we have found patent filings that reveal the design of the production-spec interior for the Mahindra XUV.e8.

According to the designs patented, the XUV.e8 will feature a massive integrated display unit on the dashboard.
It will comprise a three-part display setup (including an infotainment screen, a digital driver’s display and an additional screen for the front passenger). We expect the infotainment units to be powered by Mahindra’s Adrenox software.
It will feature a new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel design with an illuminated centre logo, something resembling the one’s found in the new Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon and Punch EV. Additionally, some design elements can be carried forward from the XUV700.
The XUV.e8 will get refreshed styling at the front and back, with a redesigned fascia adorning a connected LED signature light setup with redesigned housing for the headlights. The twin-pod trapezoidal-shaped headlamps will include all-LED projector headlight and fog lamps.

Mahindra had shared its extensive plans for EVs on India’s 77th Independence Day last year. The Indian automaker had also revealed a new brand identity for its forthcoming EV lineup.
These new models will be built on Mahindra’s innovative INGLO platform and will be categorized under two sub-brands, XUV and Born Electric (BE), with additional models expected in the future.
Powertrain details of the XUV.e8 haven’t been disclosed yet, but the INGLO platform is expected to accommodate batteries with capacities of 60 and 80kWh.
Along with a charging rate of 175kW, the battery is expected to charge up to 80 percent within 30 minutes. It is also expected to be powered by a dual-motor setup powering all the wheels to produce an expected total output of 340 - 395 PS.
It will be loaded with tech up to the brim and is anticipated to get Level 2 ADAS features as found in the XUV700. Upon its launch which is slated for the second half of this year, it will rival other EVs like the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Harrier EV / Safari EV. We expect it to be priced from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
