UPDATE: Maruti Suzuki has launched the Invicto MPV from Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is finally set to be launched tomorrow on our shores. It will be the first Toyota-made vehicle to be sold with a Maruti Suzuki badge in India. Thanks to recent teasers and spy shots, we have some insights into what to expect from this upcoming MPV. Here's a preview of five things you need to know about the Invicto ahead of tomorrow's launch.

Minimal Design Changes

Maruti Invicto

As we have already seen in previous teasers, the Invicto is a look-alike of the Innova Hycross, as the changes are only limited to the front and rear, that too very minimal. We’ve already seen a chrome grille like the Grand Vitara, along with dual-tone alloy wheels instead of Hycross’ monotone units. The tail lamps are the same, however, up here, it gets Nexa’s tri-element insignia.

What To Expect Inside?

No changes have been made to the dashboard design, which is the case with most of the rebadged Maruti and Toyota cars. However, the Invicto will get a black colour scheme with champagne inserts instead of the brown theme in the Toyota MPV.

Talking about features, the Invicto being a rebadged Hycross will be loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, digital driver's display, dual-zone AC, ventilated front seats, memory setting for the driver’s seat, a wireless phone charger and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Invicto will also get a full suite of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features, including lane departure assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Its safety kit will also include up to six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC) and 360–degree camera.

Strong hybrid Power Only

Maruti Invicto

The Invicto will be equipped with a 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrain which has a combined output of 186PS and 206Nm, and come mated to an e-CVT automatic gearbox. Since Maruti will likely offer the Invicto in a single fully loaded trim, it might miss out on the more affordable 2-litre petrol-only engine option that’s offered with the Hycross.

Expected Price And Rivals

Since the Invicto is likely to come in a single fully loaded trim, it is expected to be priced at around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a direct rival to the Toyota Innova Hycross, while it can also be regarded as a premium alternative to the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.
