Recently, we did a sales figure comparison report for the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Mahindra Thar. Over the past three months, the Thar has reported similar MoM (month on month) numbers, while the Jimny is seeing a decline in sales every month. This could also be one of the reasons for the price cut.
In terms of price, the Thar starts from Rs 10.98 lakh for the RWD models with the 4WD variants priced from 14.03 lakh (ex-showroom). The Jimny also competes with the Force Gurkha.
