Dealers are of the view that the launch will happen in the first two weeks of November, possibly on November 10.
Car has already been seen in its entirety during a TVC shoot.
Updated model features a rounded design and looks bigger than the current car.
Touchscreen, steering-mounted audio controls, reversing camera and auto AC are expected.
Powertrain setup will be the same as the WagonR.
Will continue to rival the Santro, Tiago, Datsun GO and WagonR in the Rs 4.65 lakh to Rs 6 lakh bracket.
The Maruti Celerio is due a full generation update, and according to multiple sources, the hatchback’s new model could be launched on November 10. We contacted Maruti for a comment but the official word is that no fixed date has been set yet. Dealers are of the opinion that the new Celerio will be launched in the first two weeks of November, right after Diwali.
The updated Celerio has already been spotted in its entirety when its TVC was being shot earlier. The hatchback looked like it had grown in size, and the boxy look of the current car has been replaced with a more overall rounded look.
Maruti is said to be offering features like a touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, a reversing camera and even automatic climate control on the upcoming Celerio. The images from the TVC shoot also suggest that the updated Celerio will get blacked out alloy wheels.
The powertrain setup will be the same as the WagonR. That means the Celerio will not only get a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (68PS/91Nm) with manual and AMT transmission options like before, but it will also get a larger 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (83PS/113Nm) with a manual and AMT transmission. It should continue to get a CNG option like the current-gen model with the smaller 1.0-litre engine.
The Celerio currently rivals the Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO, Tata Tiago and of course, the Maruti WagonR The new gen model, which is expected to retail between Rs 4.65 lakh and Rs 6 lakh, will continue to rival these cars.
