The Batur belongs to Bentley’s Mulliner coachbuilding division.
Limited to 18 production units, all models already spoken for.
Real world testing begins in Europe, includes 10,000km of driving.
Equipped with the most powerful twin-turbo W12 engine producing 740+ PS.
The Bentley Batur is the latest product of the brand’s Mulliner division and as far as exclusivity and bespoke options go, the Batur is right up there with the best. Successor to the Bacalar, the car was revealed back in August and Bentley has now started putting in the miles on two development units; one of which as you can see above is specced in Purple Sector hue.
The development car – Batur Car #0 – will be put through 120 individual tests spanning over 58 weeks. The first test, which is a 2,500km route, will include driving out of Germany, passing through Italy and France and ending in Spain.
Further workout will be done at Bentley’s proving grounds where high-speed testing and handling on a host of road services will be undertaken. After sweating it out at the proving grounds, the Bentley will undergo 7,500km of real world testing before the extreme climate testing will begin.

Bentley says the development car will withstand 600 hours of solar loading, which is equivalent to five years in the Arizona desert. This extreme weather test is especially important for the Batur, owing to all the bespoke materials used, both on the inside and outside as well as all the expensive hardware underneath the skin. So much for a car that’s limited to just 18 units, huh?
The iconic W12 has been the heart of Bentleys for the last two decades and it continues to do so with the Batur in its most powerful avatar yet. Producing more than 740 PS, the hand-assembled 6.0-litre, twin-turbo unit has already been put through more than 100 weeks of development, along with the powertrain, ensuring that standards and refinement levels are up to the mark.
The new Bentley Batur isn’t just a highly exclusive Mulliner product but is also a preview into the future. It sports a new design language that is expected to be incorporated in the future electric models of the marque. All models will be specced according to the bespoke needs of their owners, which further increases the exclusivity of each unit.

Deliveries will commence somewhere around mid-2023 after the completion of the strenuous testing procedures and even if you could afford it, you can’t have one as all of the 18 production models are already accounted for.
