This Suzuki Jimny is cosplaying a Brabus G800 sans the V8 engine

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But if we are being honest, modifying a car to make it look like an exotic car is not something we appreciate. We have seen our share of weird and wacky mods, but this Jimny made us question that.

Nobody in their right mind would say no to a standard Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, let alone the Brabus 800, right? But with a base price tag north of approximately Rs 3 crore, sadly, it remains a dream for most of us. Unless you were born with a silver spoon, the only other alternative is to rob a bank (it’s your call, but we won’t recommend it).

But, we can recommend this Suzuki Jimny modified to look like a Brabus 800. Yeah, you’ll miss out on the V8, but on the flip side, it won’t cost an arm or leg and it definitely won’t get you jail time. Plus, it’s the cutest G-Wagon out there and it’s got side exit exhausts!

This Nardo Grey Jimny recently came up for grabs at Collecting Cars, an auction house based in the UK. What makes this impressive is the attention to detail - it genuinely looks like a shrunken Brabus 800 and it is adorable.

It never comes across as a wacky mod and that is mainly down to the fact that the Jimny is already a cut-price version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The brick shape is there and Jimmy's proportions are spot on. Prominent modifications include the boxy and flared wheel arches, Brabus badging, 18-inch wheels, LED headlamps, side exit exhausts, bumpers and signature fender-mounted indicators.

The vehicle is a left-hand drive example that was purchased in Dubai where the conversion was done by a specialist. However, more interesting are the modifications done to the cabin of the off-roader. The interior is now finished in bright orange leather upholstery with dedicated stitching and badging similar to a Brabus.

Where you don’t find any changes are under the hood. The modified Jimny retains the same K15 1.5-litre petrol engine developing a humble 102PS. The car in question won a final bid of £38,750 (Rs 37 lakhs) and that might look like a lot of money for a Jimny. But, considering the SUV is priced around £17,000 (Rs 16 lakhs) in the UK, that price seems fair. But, when stacked up against the price of a legit Brabus 800, this is peanuts.
