Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelifted EQB all-electric SUV, and prices for the revised EV start from Rs 70.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The EQB is now offered in a new EQB 250+ variant, which comes with a 7-seater configuration. The EQB 350 4MATIC trim, which was a 7-seater earlier, is now available as a 5-seater only, and is offered in an AMG Line trim.
Let’s take a look at the prices:
Variant |
Price (ex-showroom) |
EQB 250+ |
Rs 70.90 lakh |
EQB 350 4MATIC |
Rs 77.5 lakh |
EQB 350 (Old model) |
Rs 77.75 lakh |
As seen in the table above, the new EQB 250+ variant has made the EQB SUV more affordable than before. Also, the new EQB 350 undercuts the older model by Rs 25,000.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB facelift has been given minor design tweaks for the exterior, making it look more modern and stylish than the outgoing model. It now gets a new grille, identical to the one on the new EQA SUV, featuring small three-pointed stars adorning the grille. It also gets chunkier looking bumpers with more aggressive styling, which make the SUV look more rugged and sportier.
The EQB SUV sits on refreshed 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels and apart from that, no other major changes have been made to the side. While it looks largely identical from the rear, the tail lights have been given a new LED signature with twin horizontal stripes giving it a cleaner look.
The EQB 250+ comes with a grey coloured cabin theme with rose gold inserts around the AC vents, while the EQB 350 features an all-black upholstery, giving it a sporty appearance. Not much changes have been made to the overall design, but the cabin comes with small tri-pointed stars on the co-driver’s side of the dashboard and the door pads. You can also opt for an open-pore wood trim for the cabin.
The EQB is now available with both 5- and 7-seater configurations, while the earlier model was available with 7 seats only.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB comes with plenty of features including dual screens consisting of the digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system (supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a 12-speaker Burmester sound system, a heads-up display, gesture control, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, powered front seats with memory function, connected car technology, and ambient lighting.
Safety is taken care of by a range of level-2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, and electronic stability control.
The EQB 250+ gets a larger 70.5 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that churns out 190 PS and 385 Nm, while the EQB 350 4MATIC comes with the 66.5 kWh battery pack teamed with dual motors and an all-wheel drive setup, which produces 292 PS and 520 Nm.
WIth the EQB 350 pack, you get a WLTP-claimed range of 447km, while the EQB 250+ with the larger battery offers a claimed range of up to 535km. The latter makes it an improvement of about 112km when compared to the previous model.
A DC fast charger can charge the EQB facelift from 10 to 80 percent in 32-35 minutes. Meanwhile, an 11kW AC charger takes 6 hours 45 minutes to charge the EQB 350 and 7 hours 15 minutes to charge the EQB 250+.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB facelift is priced from Rs 70.90 lakh to Rs 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be considered as a 7-seater alternative to entry-level luxury EVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQA, Volvo XC40 Recharge and the Kia EV6.
